About On a Roll Bakery, Darwin’s, & Expresso  

On a Roll Bakery is a mix of a coffee shop and a bakery! We’re the go-to spot on campus for coffee, hot & cold food, and beverages. We serve over 1,200 customers a day, going through approximately 15kg of coffee per day, so we need someone who can lead our team! 

Darwin’s is our go to Cafe for a grab-and-go lunch, or to relax with a coffee and delicious food! It's the kind of place where regulars feel at home, and new faces are always welcome! Our team takes pride in creating a relaxed experience for every guest, no matter how busy the day gets. 

Expresso is our express coffee spot, perfect for guests who want a great coffee or a refreshing beverage without slowing down. It’s a vibrant hub for quick service, quality drinks, and friendly faces!  

About The Role 

We are looking for a truly exceptional Barista/ Allrounder to join our fun and energetic teams at UQU On A Roll Bakery, Darwin's, & Expresso. This role works under the direction of the supervisor to skillfully make all coffee and beverages to a high-quality standard in a timely manner. Additionally, this role will involve delivering excellent customer service and general duties, such as cleaning service areas and equipment, food preparation, stock rotation, and assisting with stocktake. 

As the Barista/ Allrounder, you’ll: 

You will have a genuine passion for creating and serving high-quality coffee, exemplified by your connoisseur skills and coffee artistry techniques. Additionally, you’ll have a strong knowledge of WHS practices, which will ensure your standards of food hygiene and safety are impeccable. You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and thrive on customer satisfaction.  You will have the enthusiasm to build on our reputation for being the go-to place for a morning coffee. 

Required skills & Experience: 

  • Minimum of 2 years’ coffee barista experience; 

  • You create exceptional coffee and work with specialty coffee and latte art; 

  • Solid working knowledge of dialing in, yield, dose, texturing, machine cleaning and maintenance; 

  • Ability to work well under pressure with a positive attitude in a fast paced and high demanding environment and; 

  • Strong knowledge and experience in Food and Work Health Safety.
