About the role
Reporting to the Outlet Supervisor, the Cook supports the efficient preparation and delivery of food across UQU outlets while maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and service.
This is a hands-on role where you will work as part of a team to ensure food preparation runs smoothly while contributing to the overall success of Business Trading operations.
This role requires Monday to Friday availability. Although this is a casual postion, it is ideal for someone with full availability throughout the week, as the hours during the semester will go up to 38 hours per week.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, cook and present food in accordance with menu requirements and quality standards
- Assist with food preparation, baking and kitchen production tasks
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness
- Support stock control activities including deliveries, stock rotation and stocktakes
- Follow and contribute to standard operating procedures and food safety systems
- Assist with menu ideas and product improvements where appropriate
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth operations
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste and support cost control
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive team culture
About you

- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

- A positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
- Commitment to delivering excellent customer service
- Ability to work independently and show initiative when required
Barista coffee skills and experience with POS systems are desirable but not essential.
