Job Description

About the role 

Reporting to the Outlet Supervisor / Area Manager, the Team Leader – Production Kitchen supports the efficient operation of the production kitchen while supervising staff and maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and service. 

You will play a key role in ensuring food production runs smoothly while supporting the wider Business Trading operations across UQU outlets. 

Key responsibilities 

  • Supervise and support production kitchen staff in daily operations 

  • Oversee the daily operations of FOH/ cashiers 

  • Assist Outlet Supervisor with rostering for Production Kitchen & Main Course 

  • Ensure food preparation and kitchen operations meet quality and safety standards 

  • Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene and WHS procedures 

  • Manage stock control, ordering and delivery of food supplies 

  • Monitor kitchen production costs and assist with maintaining COGS targets 

  • Ensure accurate completion of food safety management records 

  • Assist with stocktakes and inventory management 

  • Provide training, guidance and orientation for new team members 

  • Support promotions and menu initiatives where required 

  • Adhereing to cash handling & reconciliation procedures in accordance with company guidelines 

 

About you 

We are seeking a hands-on Team Leader – Production Kitchen to support the daily operations of our production kitchen and help lead a small team delivering high-quality food preparation across our campus outlets. To succeed in this role you will bring: 

  • Experience working in a hospitality, food service or production kitchen environment 
  • Experience supervising or leading team members 
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices 
  • Experience using POS systems and handling cash transactions 
  • Strong organisational and communication skills 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards
