About the role
Reporting to the Outlet Supervisor / Area Manager, the Team Leader – Production Kitchen supports the efficient operation of the production kitchen while supervising staff and maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and service.
You will play a key role in ensuring food production runs smoothly while supporting the wider Business Trading operations across UQU outlets.
Key responsibilities
Supervise and support production kitchen staff in daily operations
Oversee the daily operations of FOH/ cashiers
Assist Outlet Supervisor with rostering for Production Kitchen & Main Course
Ensure food preparation and kitchen operations meet quality and safety standards
Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene and WHS procedures
Manage stock control, ordering and delivery of food supplies
Monitor kitchen production costs and assist with maintaining COGS targets
Ensure accurate completion of food safety management records
Assist with stocktakes and inventory management
Provide training, guidance and orientation for new team members
Support promotions and menu initiatives where required
Adhereing to cash handling & reconciliation procedures in accordance with company guidelines
About you
We are seeking a hands-on Team Leader – Production Kitchen to support the daily operations of our production kitchen and help lead a small team delivering high-quality food preparation across our campus outlets. To succeed in this role you will bring:
Experience working in a hospitality, food service or production kitchen environment
Experience supervising or leading team members
Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
Experience using POS systems and handling cash transactions
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards
