About The Role 

We’re seeking Cleaners to join our fun and energetic team at UQU. Reporting to the Supervisor, this role plays an important part in maintaining a safe, clean, and sanitary environment for our staff, students, and guests. 

This position is ideal for UQ students seeking casual employment, and we are happy to accommodate study commitments and individual availability. 

Shifts are available between 6:00 am and 9:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work as required. 

Previous experience is preferred but not essential, as on-the-job training will be provided. 

Key responsibilities include: 

• Cleaning and maintaining designated areas to a high standard 

• Assisting with the removal, relocation, and replacement of furniture and office equipment 

• Ensuring all areas are cleaned in accordance with UQU standards and procedures 

• Safely handling cleaning chemicals in line with legislative and workplace health and safety requirements 

• Providing hands-on support to other departments where required 

• Participating in regular team meetings and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives 

• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and reduce waste where appropriate 

• Following standards and best practices regarding Workplace Health & Safety to maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment. 

Desired Skills & Experience 

• Well-developed practical communication skills 

• Basic computer literacy 

• Ability to work effectively within a team 

• Ability to handle customer enquiries or feedback professionally and courteously 

• Capacity to perform manual handling tasks
