About The Role 

We're looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Sandwich & Salad Hand to join the team at Darwin's. 

This is a casual position, offering approximately 15–20 hours per week, Monday to Friday. 

In this hands-on role, you'll prepare fresh sandwiches, salads and other food items while ensuring high standards of quality, presentation and food safety. Working alongside an experienced café team, you'll help ensure our customers enjoy fresh, delicious food every day. 

What You'll Be Doing 

As a Sandwich & Salad Hand, your responsibilities will include: 

• Preparing sandwiches, salads and other fresh food items to recipe and presentation standards  

• Assisting with daily food production to meet operational requirements across UQU outlets  

• Assisting with stock rotation, ingredient preparation and storage  

• Supporting the team with general kitchen duties, cleaning and food preparation  

• Working collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient daily production  

• Maintaining exceptional presentation and cleanliness standards across service areas; and 

• Following standards and best practices regarding Food Safety and WHS to maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment. 

About You 

You'll thrive in this role if you: 

• Have experience working in a commercial kitchen, café, catering or food production environment  

• Enjoy preparing fresh food and take pride in producing quality products  

• Can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail  

• Understand or are willing to learn food safety and hygiene practices  

• Are reliable, organised and able to follow recipes and standard operating procedures  

• Work well as part of a team and have a positive attitude  

• Have excellent time management skills and can prioritise tasks effectively  

• Hold (or are willing to obtain) relevant food safety qualifications.
